About Brush Sushi

Culture is a term that categorizes mankind, having the power to both bring us together, while also celebrating our unique stories. As one of the first to bring Edomae omakase to Atlanta in 2015–Brush was founded on just that, the desire to share a piece of our story with the heart of Atlanta. Whether it be brushing each piece of nigiri with nikiri shoyu, Edomae style omakase, binchotan kissed ingredients, or the aesthetics of kumiko wood–It’s all an extension of who we are. Our goal is to lead, elevate, push the limits, and offer a version of Japanese cuisine that’s evolving, yet relatable. Allow us to humbly invite you to experience a piece of our home; welcome to Brush Sushi.

The atmosphere is terrific but unfortunately, the brunch food was simply too disappointing 😌 We were very excited to have the brunch here but our palate was spoiled first by a very salty bowl of miso soup. As a person living in Japan for 15 years, a good bowl of miso soup is actually from the β€œdashi” (bonito flakes & kelp broth) and the miso is just an accent to accentuate the flavor profile. The empowering saltiness was simply unacceptable. The bara chirashi box looked amazing and we were especially excited for the Hokkaido donburi. Alas, the pieces of sashimi (red shrimp, sea urchin, scallop and ikura) were so salty as if they were soaked in soy sauce forever. When confronted, our server simply brushed it off (no pun intended) stating that their chef could have marinated it a tad too long. Even my guest said she would not choose to come back anymore. Japanese food is respected for its simplicity. When you do have fresh sashimi, you don’t have to cure it like a ramen egg. Just let the fresh sashimi speak for itself and we can add our own soy sauce to the level of saltiness that we would like. A really disappointing Sunday brunch.

The restaurant has an elegant atmosphere with beautiful dΓ©cor down to the finest details. Soft warm lighting is thoughtfully arranged throughout each area, creating a cozy and sophisticated ambiance. The chill background music blends perfectly with the stylish bar, making the entire space feel relaxing. Fresh green plants add a vibrant, refreshing touch to the interior. The Maki Set was outstanding, especially the Aburi Spicy Tuna and Black Pepper Wagyu, served with miso soup. Every ingredient was fresh and of high quality. The Wagyu beef was incredibly tender, juicy, and full of rich flavor. One of the most enjoyable parts of the meal was brushing soy sauce onto the maki yourself. It was a fun and unique experience that made me feel like I was part of the chef’s team, putting the finishing touch on the dish with a special sauce. The reasonable prices and the warm, attentive service from the staff are definitely reasons why I’ll be coming back.

Brush Sushi is incredibly elegant and spotless from the moment you walk in. The dining atmosphere is pristine, and even the restrooms are exceptionally clean, which is always a massive plus in my book. As for the meal, the food was absolutely amazing, everything was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. To top it all off, our waitress was absolutely lovely and provided fantastic service throughout the afternoon. We will definitely be back!

Pricey, but good sushi! Everything we ordered tasted great. The only negatives I would give is the miso soup was very salty. The rice that was served with the Wagyu steak was lukewarm at best. Also, the portions are pretty small relative to the cost. Service was attentive, and the atmosphere was nice. They do validate parking as well!

Went here within an hour of them closing and the service was really great. Our server was so friendly and polite, and patient considering the time. I didn’t like that the lights were on in the establishment being that it was evening, I understand that they were about to close, but it felt like at any moment they were about to start stacking chairs and mopping. I wonder if that’s how the ambience is normally, it just felt way too bright and not how you would expect a Michelin-starred sushi restaurant to feel at dinner time. Nothing was particularly spectacular about the food and the presentation with the stencil cut carrots, and vegetables were interesting but I didn’t see what I expected from a restaurant of this price and caliber. We ordered two portions of the Wagyu fried rice, which was pretty good and the fish tasted fresh. The food was just mid though. My drink was nice, but can be gulped down in three small sips.
